About Paws to Freedom, Inc.

OUR MISSION

Paws to Freedom is a non-profit all volunteer organization with 501(c) 3 status. Our mission is to facilitate safe opportunities of continued education and social activities for people with disabilities who are partnered with a service dog. Through community workshops, events and social activities service dog teams experience training opportunities where both the handler and service dog are set up for success!

The community approach includes:

  • Group Trainings
  • Social Events
  • Group Training
  • Community Involvement
  • Community Education

GOALS:

Social:

Open service dog team activities to enhance the life experiences for all participants, enabling more people to meet and build friendships & community partnerships with people partnered with service dogs.

Support service dog teams in becoming involved community members.

Education:

Educate the community about the service dog team partnership through activities together, removing the show and tell and spectatorship of the service dog experience.

COMMITMENT:

To build bridges in our community promoting public access, acceptance and understanding of the service dog team partnership. Community education is provided through service dog teams.

We promote positive and humane training methods for the safety, wellness and success of the service dog partner, the human partner and the public.

Clear participation guidelines are provided for participants for everyone's safety and successful event experiences.

Note: To most effectively support those working with service dogs and/or training their own service dog, we are no longer providing individualized training. However to support the continued learning of Service Dog Teams, our workshops will include training topics and other important information to benefit working teams and teams in training. Our commitment to support training continues now in group settings.
